Finding Content For NSFW Tumblr Posts

Now that we’ve successfully steup our Tumblr blog, it’s time to start posting. But there’s one thing required for a NSFW Tumblr bog; The content! Where are we supposed to find content to post? There’s several ways to go about this, and all explained below.

Scrape the Internet! Scrape! Scrape! Scrape!

The most obvious blackhat approach is to just scrape the internet for everything related to the niche of the Tumlbr blog. This works. You don’t have the rights, so technically it goes against Tumblr’s content policy, blah, blah, blah…..

Truth be told, even if you go the more whitehatted route, your blog could still get banned. It seems as though Tumblr picks random NSFW blogs out of a hat and hits the ban button just to do it. I think they have the spread figured out and take bets on whether or not the publisher will send a “Why U Ban Blogz!” email or just say screw it. Therefore, this tactic does work. There are smarters methods though.

If this is your strategy, I would recommend consulting the all knowing Google. Try the query; “%NICHE% Gallery”.

Automate Tumblr Posting

Why scrape the internet for pictures, when you can scrape the internet for RSS feeds? (Or build your own). We’ve got an entire section on NSFW Tumblr Automation, so I’m not going to go into great detail here. It is possible to never have to download one image, or upload one image.

Adult Affiliate Programs

Why would you bother scraping the internet when the people producing the content will hand it over on a silver platter? There are thousands of adult affiliate programs out there. All you have to do is sign-up and you’ve got access to the content. I would recommend going for the programs that allow downloading of full zipped galleries. It’s possible to download entire niche sites. That is enough content to keep Tumblr blogs going for years.

Keep in mind, that some programs have specific guidelines on how their content can and can’t be used to promote (not exploit) their site. Be sure to read their terms carefully and make sure the way you’re using it for Tumblr is compliant.

The smartest idea, in my opinion, would be to create a WordPress gallery site and upload the images. From WordPress it’s possible to automate the Tumblr posting. Doing it this way allows you to not only monetize the Tumblr blog, but also the web presence. Tumblr will drive traffic to the website as well, allowing you to “double dip” on the traffic in a sense. WordPress.

This is covered in great detail in the NSFW Tumblr Automation section of our NSFW Tumblr Guide.
